As part of the European COCPIT project aimed at decarbonizing air and maritime transport, this study synthesized and tested four bio-based ionic liquids (derived from ε-caprolactam) for the efficient extraction of lipids from the microalga Parachlorella kessleri, intended for the production of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF).
